Kazakhstan gives Mongolia financial aid for flood victims
Kazakh Ambassador H.E Kalybek Koblandin has handed to Mongolian Deputy PM U.Enkhtuvshin, USD 500 thousand aid as a gift from his government. The meeting took place on Wednesday 17 October. Astana had previously promised to give aid for Bayan-Ulgii, Mongolia’s only Muslim and Kazakh-majority province, after flooding disaster occurred in July following heavy rainfall. Deputy PM U.Enkhtuvshin noted that the aid will be spent in cleaning the thick mud caused by the deluge, sterilisation and the construct of homes for the flood victims.
At the meeting in Ulaanbaatar, the two sides also discussed direct flights between Ulaanbaatar and Astana, a joint road construction project and other cooperation issues.
